Danone is studying Russia’s decision to transfer the share of foreign owners in the Russian structure of the company to temporary management. The company promised to take steps to protect its rights as a shareholder and the “continuity of business operations for the benefit of all stakeholders, especially employees.”
“Danone has taken note of the decision of the Russian authorities aimed at transferring Danone Russia to the temporary external management of the Russian authorities. Danone is currently investigating the situation,” reads the press releasepublished on the company’s website.
Yesterday President Vladimir Putin signed a decree, according to which the shares of Danone and Baltika, owned by foreign companies, were transferred to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency. We are talking about 83,292,493 thousand ordinary shares of Danone Russia, owned by Produits Laitiers Frais Est Europe, and 85 thousand shares of Danone Trade.
