A Vedomosti source close to the government, as well as a source in a financial company, reported interest in the assets on the part of Vamin Tatarstan and Yakub Zakriev. According to one of the sources, the parent company must make serious concessions in the value of the asset. It is assumed that buyers will pay for the asset in equal shares, 50% to 50%. At the same time, the source notes that the company is unlikely to be officially divided in half.”
Representatives of the French Danone declined to comment. A representative of Vamin Tatarstan said that the company does not comment. The press services of the Chechen government and the Ministry of Agriculture did not respond to Vedomosti’s requests.
In February, the Financial Times, citing a letter to the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, reported that Danone’s subsidiary agreed to pay 17.7 billion rubles. On March 13, the president canceled the transfer to the Federal Property Management Agency of the French company’s shares in Danone’s Russian assets.
