Danish Novo Nordisk stopped deliveries of a drug for diabetes to Russia

The Danish company Novo Nordisk has stopped deliveries of the diabetes drug Ozempic (semaglutide) to Russia. Roszdravnadzor received a notification from the company in November 2022, reported RBC in the department.
Ozempic is used for type 2 diabetes. Since 2022, it has been included in the list of vital and essential medicines.
According to RNC Pharma, in 2022 Novo Nordisk imported Ozempic to Russia for 1.86 billion rubles. A RBC source associated with the pharmaceutical market said that the drug is no longer in the warehouses of most pharmacies. Now, according to AptekaMos.ru, Ozempik is still available in a number of pharmacies in Moscow and the Moscow region, including Good Pharmacy, Farmir and Mia Pharma.
Officially Novo Nordisk did not notify about the termination of work in Russia. In November 2022 RBC informedthat about 30 Moscow pharmacies inflate the price of Ozempik by two or three times.
