The industry association Soyuzmoloko (which includes more than 300 milk producers and processors) has recorded a decrease in product inventories in the warehouses of various enterprises. This is stated in the analytical review of the association for August 2023. A copy of the document is at the disposal of Vedomosti.

It said butter inventories at the end of July (more recent data not available) were 22% lower (down to 20,000 tonnes) compared with the same period in 2022. At the end of May the gap was less noticeable at 12%. Dairy farmers had 18,000 tons of dry whey left. And this is 2% less than it was in July 2022. But in May it was 47% more than a year earlier.
