The authorities have not yet officially announced the start of the Mir system. According to Andrey Guskov, Russian Ambassador to Cuba, the work is close to completion.
The Mir payment system currently operates in some partner banks in Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Korea and South Ossetia. More than 15 countries have expressed readiness to implement it.
