Since the beginning of 2022, Crimea has received 30% fewer tourists than last year – 6.3 million, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko said at a round table following the high tourist season. In 2021, a record 9.5 million tourists visited the peninsula.
“From January to November of this year, the tourist flow amounted to 6.3 million tourists, which is 30% lower than the same period last year. Tax revenues to the republic’s budget from the tourism industry amounted to 2.91 billion rubles, 18% less than last year’s figure,” Mr. Volchenko noted.
Recall that earlier the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, called the summer season 2022 disrupted due to the cancellation of flights. According to the governor, the tourist flow to the peninsula compared to the record year 2021 (about 9.5 million tourists) fell by 40%.
Later the authorities of the peninsula declared about intentions to make a year-round resort out of Crimea.
