Crimea is developing tax incentives for the tourism industry – Kommersant

The Crimean authorities plan to introduce tax incentives for tourism businesses on the peninsula. This issue is currently being studied, head of the Crimean parliament Vladimir Konstantinov told RIA Novosti.

“We are now exploring the possibility of introducing tax benefits for enterprises in the tourism industry as part of systematic work to provide state support, as well as the issue of loading Crimean boarding houses through budget financing,” said Vladimir Konstantinov.

The total tourist flow to Crimea since the beginning of 2023 has amounted to 4 million people, which is 20-30% lower than last year’s figures. In 2022, 6.3 million people visited Crimea; in 2021, a record 9.5 million tourists vacationed on the peninsula.

November 17 in Crimea completed payment of subsidies to tourism facilities. More than 2 billion rubles were spent for these purposes. The head of the peninsula, Sergei Aksenov, explained that payments to the region are necessary to support the tourism industry and related industries, which spent the next season “under conditions of geopolitical and sanctions pressure.” According to him, the payments will help preserve the tourism business in the region.
