Credit Suisse postpones the publication of the annual report due to the appeal of the US regulator

Today, March 9, the Swiss bank Credit Suisse informedthat it is postponing the release of its 2022 financial report after being approached “at the last moment” by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The bank was supposed to publish its annual report today, the SEC contacted him last night.
Credit Suisse said the SEC has some questions about its 2019 and 2020 free cash flow reports. The bank noted that it wants to “thoroughly study the comments received,” therefore postponing the publication of financial statements. It is not known when it will be presented. At the same time, Credit Suisse said that comments from the SEC do not affect the results for 2022 in any way.
A month ago, Credit Suisse presented preliminary data for 2022: it informed about a record annual loss of $ 7.9 billion. Recently, the bank has regularly found itself at the center of scandals: for example, in October became knownthat the US Department of Justice suspects him of complicity in tax evasion, and in June Credit Suisse acknowledged himself guilty of insufficiently combating money laundering, which is why Bulgarian drug traffickers legalized money through him.
Shares of Credit Suisse fell 3.2% on Thursday before the opening of trading on the Zurich Stock Exchange.
