Concern “Kalashnikov” began production and supply of Lebedev modular pistols (MPL). This was announced by the president of the concern Alan Lushnikov.
“This year we started its production and are making the first contract deliveries. Currently, a batch of these products has been transferred to the customer and is undergoing military tests, ”he said (quote according to TASS).
Lushnikov spoke about the supply of MPL to the Russian Guard on the eve of the Expotechnostrazh exhibition, which will be held from March 15 to 17 in St. Petersburg. The head of the concern noted the importance of the exhibition for the company and said that the Russian Guard is a “reliable and proven” partner.
The development of the Lebedev pistol line began in 2014. The Lebedev Modular Pistol (MPL) was created on the instructions of the Russian Guard. In March 2021, the gun was successfully passed state tests. It is assumed that the MPL will replace the Yarygin 6P35 pistol in the divisions of the Russian Guard.
In addition, the Lebedev compact pistol (PLC) successfully completed state tests earlier. MIA took it was put into service in October 2021. The new pistol became a replacement for the Makarov pistol (PM). In September 2022 became knownthat the Ministry of Defense is also considering the possibility of adopting the PLC.
