The funeral of the composer Eduard Artemiev took place today, December 31, at the Vagankovsky cemetery. The farewell and funeral service took place in the Great Ascension Church on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street, RIA Novosti reports.
People’s Artist of the Russian Federation died at the age of 85 on December 29. At the beginning of the month, he was taken to one of the capital’s hospitals with coronavirus, the agency reports. Son of the composer Artemy Artemyev saidthat his father was in intensive care due to complications arising from treatment for bacterial pneumonia.
Mr. Artemyev has written music for more than 150 feature films. Among them are Andrei Tarkovsky’s films “Solaris”, “Mirror” and “Stalker”, Nikita Mikhalkov’s “Slave of Love”, “Own Among Strangers, Stranger Among Us” and others.
