Belarusian components, such as components, assemblies and parts, materials and raw materials, as well as production and technological operations can be equated to Russian ones. TASS reports this with reference to a document published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“Expertise certificates issued by authorized bodies of other states parties to the agreement on the creation of the Union State, or certificates of origin of goods (products) issued by authorized bodies of such member states in the ST-1 form; are equated in their status to documents on the production of a component issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and satisfy the specified requirements,” the resolution says.

It is assumed that in order to classify a product as Russian, at least 20% of the total number of production and technological operations must be performed in Russia. If the amendments are adopted, the resolution will come into force on July 1, 2024.

Earlier, the project was reported with reference to sources “Vedomosti”. The Ministry of Industry and Trade believes that such measures will allow the use of joint developments in domestic products. One of the publication’s sources in one of the electronics manufacturing companies said that such an initiative could lead to Chinese products entering the Russian market under the guise of Belarusian ones due to an insufficient level of verification of information about their origin.
