The Federal Agency for Fisheries proposed to the subordinate All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) to postpone the acceptance of two research vessels (R/V) from 2022 to 2026. This is stated in the materials of the Federal Agency for Fishery for the meeting of the government commission for the development of the fishery complex, which were reviewed “Vedomosti”. The meeting of the commission was held on July 4.

According to the document, VNIRO ordered two research vessels of project 17050 with a total cost of 5.9 billion rubles. at the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant (Nevsky Shipyard, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation); USC). The contract was concluded on December 18, 2020, by government decree No. 1581, a subsidy for NIS in the amount of 5.9 billion rubles was allocated from the budget to the customer. VNIRO was supposed to receive the ordered vessels at the end of 2022. The R/V is needed to study fish habitats and generate forecasts for the catch.
