Citibank announced the introduction of a 5% fee for depositing cash dollars and euros into accounts through their cash desks. From the message press services it follows that the change in tariffs is introduced from August 15.
Citibank will also prohibit replenishment of accounts by means of transfers through branches of the Russian Post. From August 19, customers will lose access to making all types of money transfers in rubles and foreign currency through CitiPhone systems (account management using calls).
Since July, commissions for depositing cash dollars and euros have been introduced by Tinkoff Bank (4%), BCS Bank (5% for amounts over 10 thousand), Intesa and Moskommertsbank (5 or 10% depending on the amount), Tsifra Bank ( 2.5%). At the same time, 11 out of 13 systemically important credit institutions of the Russian Federation stopped accept dollars and euros through ATMs, including Sberbank, Raiffeisenbank, VTB.
In August 2022, Citigroup, which owns the bank, announced that it was curtailing its business in Russia. The Group has decided to cease its retail and corporate banking operations in the SME segment.
