Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced the need to develop a program to subsidize interregional river passenger transportation for 2023-2025. He announced this during a meeting on the development of the tourism industry in Tatarstan. According to Mr. Chernyshenko, the program will stimulate the development of domestic tourism and give a serious increase in the tourist flow in the subjects, the Ministry of Transport has been given the corresponding instruction.
The Vice Prime Minister recalled that the President had given the instruction to develop river and cruise tourism. “Our task, by increasing the offer of services, is to make this type of recreation more accessible. To do this, a program should be developed to subsidize interregional river passenger traffic for 2023-2025. Work to expand the route network is already underway, he said.
The office of the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Mr. Chernyshenko instructed the Ministry of Transport to develop an appropriate program by March 1, 2023 and submit it to the government.
