Chernogolovka acquired the manufacturer of muesli Matti and BigStar – Kommersant

The Chernogolovka group of companies acquired the muesli production company Cereals for Breakfast LLC (brands Matti and BigStar), TASS reports citing a representative of the group. The transaction amount is not disclosed. The acquirer in the transaction was the holding company of the group, Aqualife Resource JSC.

The message of the Chernogolovka Group of Companies notes that “Cereals for Breakfast” will be part of the “Food Products” business unit. It is expected that the acquisition of the company will complement the group’s product range and strengthen Chernogolovka’s position in the breakfast cereal segment. Currently, the share of “Cereals for Breakfast” in this segment is 4.2% in terms of money, Chernogolovka clarified. It is planned that as a result of the transaction, the total share of the group will exceed 30%.

LLC “Zlaki na breakfast” produces cereals, cookies, chocolate confectionery, chips and snacks. The company’s products are represented in most Russian regions, as well as in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Belarus. Since 2019, Matti brand products have been supplied to China.

In 2023, Aqualife Resource JSC also acquired Kellogg Rus LLC, the Russian business of the American Kellogg’s (Lubyatovo and Pringles brands). The deal, which included production facilities in the Pskov, Voronezh and Smolensk regions, allowed the group to enter a new market segment.
