The Ministry of Culture of Chechnya announced a decision to impose restrictions on music performed in the region. How writes “Grozny-inform”, an extended meeting was held with the leaders of creative groups, during which the head of the Ministry of Culture “voiced the final decision agreed with the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov.”

According to this decision, “from now on, all musical, vocal and choreographic works must comply with a tempo of 80 to 116 beats per minute.”

The ministry also added that, on Kadyrov’s instructions, work is being carried out “on the issue of the compliance of Chechen musical, vocal, and choreographic works with the Chechen mentality.”

“The musical culture of the Chechens was diverse in tempo and methodology,” noted Minister Musa Dadaev. “We must bring our children to the people and to the future <...> features of the Chechen character, which includes the entire spectrum of moral, moral and ethical standards of life of Chechens.”
