Chechen entrepreneur was unable to challenge the registration of the trademark “Vkusno – and that’s it”

The network of fast food restaurants “Vkusno – i Tochka” managed to defend the trademark of the same name in the Chamber for Patent Disputes of Rospatent. The latter refused to satisfy the complaint of the Chechen individual entrepreneur Kaluga Gagalov, who owns the It’s fine point brand. The decision was made on May 15th.

“Vkusno – and that’s it” opened in June 2022 on the site of the American chain McDonald’s, which decided to leave Russia and sell the business after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The buyer was businessman Alexander Govor, who previously managed McDonald’s restaurants in Siberia as a franchisee. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but Govor himself called it symbolic and “much lower than the market.”
