The Republican Union of Tourism Industry of Belarus is discussing with Russian Railways the possibility of launching charter Lastochka trains on the Moscow-Minsk route. This issue is planned to be discussed at the Russian-Belarusian Tourism Congress, which will be held in Minsk from April 17 to 20. The results of the negotiations could be announced in the summer, said the chairman of the board of the union, Philip Guly.

“If we manage to solve this over the summer, then I think this may well be possible. Business is very interested in this, in theory, Russian Railways is also interested,” he said (quoted from TASS). According to Mr. Guly, the launch of charter “Swallows” to Minsk will solve the logistics problems that arise when organizing large corporate events in Belarus. First of all, this concerns events organized by Russian companies, he concluded.

In March, Russian Railways confirmed the launch of unmanned Lastochkas on the MCC. According to the holding, transportation may begin in the summer of 2024. First, trains of the third level of automation will appear on the tracks – that is, a driver will be present in the cab for control.
