Central Bank to extend restrictions on cash withdrawals

The Bank of Russia intends to extend the restrictions on currency withdrawals after March 9, said Central Bank Chairman Elvira Nabiullina.
Now you can withdraw only $10,000 or the equivalent in euros if the money was deposited into accounts before March 9, 2022. Funds from foreign currency deposits can be received in rubles.
The Central Bank introduced a restriction on the withdrawal of foreign currency and its sale on March 9, 2022. Head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina explainedthat this is due to the sanctions imposed on the import of dollar and euro banknotes into the country. Initially, the restriction was valid for six months, but in September the measure extended for another six months, until March 9, 2023.
