According to the head of Roskachestvo Maxim Protasov, in 2021 the Russian Federation supplied halal products worth a record $180 million to the Persian Gulf countries, and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were the largest importers. “By 2024, the export of Russian halal to Arab countries should reach $400 million, and by 2030 – $700 million. The activities of the new national Competence Center will certainly form the confidence in halal products of domestic and international consumers,” Mr. Protasov emphasized (quote from a press release). release).
According to Roscongress, the annual global turnover of halal products has exceeded $2 trillion. The fund expects that by 2025 the share of halal products will be at least 20% of all products produced in the world. As the head of Roskachestvo noted, over the past three years Russia has managed to double the export of halal products. In 2021, such products worth a record $180 million were supplied to the Gulf countries alone.
