The logistics operator CDEK intends to launch a service of super urgent deliveries within a day in Russia, said Uliana Burova, head of the company’s main air transportation department. According to her, the operator will cooperate with one of the largest airlines, she did not give its name.
Ms. Burova told RIA Novosti that as part of such a delivery, the cargo would be picked up, brought and delivered “directly into hands.” “For the first time, we are implementing a pilot for 5 cities for delivery within a day, depending on time zones, of course. Such a delivery will be comparable to the fact that you handed over to the passenger of the aircraft what you need to hand over urgently, ”she specified. The launch date for the service is unknown.
CDEK operates in 27 countries around the world. In 2022, CDEK-global’s RAS revenue amounted to RUB 25.2 billion, up 15.6% year-on-year. Net profit for the reporting period decreased by 13.3% to RUB 1.04 billion. At the end of May, SDEK opened warehouse complex in China. The operator’s fulfillment centers operate in five more countries – Russia, Italy (Milan), Azerbaijan (Baku), Kazakhstan (Almaty), Belarus (Minsk).
