The daughter of a Russian businessman and former owner of PhosAgro, Andrey Guryev, has filed her rights to the Alfa Nero superyacht in court. This was reported Bloomberg with reference to court documents. The US Treasury called the owner of the yacht Andrey Guryev. She was arrested by the authorities of Antigua and Barbuda in February 2022, because Andrey Guryev fell under US sanctions.

Lawyers for the businessman’s daughter Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov filed documents with the court. According to them, Yulia owned the yacht, and not her father Andrei Guryev. In court documents, Andrey Guryev’s daughter appears as a beneficiary of Tyne Trust and Flagstaff Trust. These firms own the Alfa Nero yacht and the works of art placed on it.

The length of the Alfa Nero superyacht is 82 m. Its cost was estimated at $81 million to $120 million. The yacht has a 12-meter swimming pool, a beauty salon, a 3D cinema and a helipad. In February, the yacht was seized by the authorities of Antigua and Barbuda in Falmouth Harbor, because, according to the US Treasury Department, it was owned by Russian businessman Andrey Guryev.

Due to high maintenance costs, the yacht was put up for sale in March 2023 until its owner is announced. In mid-June, it was bought out by the former head of Google, Eric Schmidt, for $67.6 million. In this regard, the US Treasury removed it from the sanctions list at the request of the Antigua and Barbuda authorities.

According to Bloomberg, Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov received a last-minute injunction against the sale of the yacht before it was sold at auction. Despite this, the yacht was sold.
