Business became interested in the services of fortune tellers and numerologists. In times of economic instability, entrepreneurs are increasingly turning to specialists in esoteric practices, reports CNBC. For example, in Singapore, revenue in the fortune telling industry almost doubled over the year. There, the heads of large companies are ready to seek help from palmists, tarot readers and even feng shui masters when hiring employees or before concluding a deal. Interest in non-standard decision-making methods has also grown among Russian businessmen. What do entrepreneurs ask fortune tellers? And how is this trend explained? Grigory Kolganov talks about this.

Instead of removing damage, there is an anti-crisis conspiracy for business; instead of fortune-telling for one’s betrothed, there is a forecast of exchange rates. Magicians and fortune tellers are ready to offer such services to Russian entrepreneurs, who, due to general economic instability, are increasingly resorting to non-standard methods of decision-making. Prices start from several thousand rubles. A detailed horoscope of a company, for example, will cost 200 thousand and more.

There are other services as well. For example, calculation using numerology of successful dates for concluding a deal, Feng Shui calculation of a favorable atmosphere in the office, human design to calculate the ideal applicant from a resume.

Such requests in the business environment no longer seem surprising, says Anna Alfimova, managing partner of Alena Vladimirskaya’s Career Laboratory:

“Now some have their own advisors, consultants who, based on astrology, tarot, arcana, and human design, determine how suitable a particular candidate or partner is for key positions. This is often used when making some transactions and when hiring key employees.”

The market players themselves – financial astrologers, business numerologists and entire consulting companies in the field of feng shui – as a rule, avoid associations with fortune tellers and esotericism, but promise to increase the energy of success, determine in advance what problems the company will face, and what will lead it to triumph. Financial astrologer Sergei Budnikov, who makes forecasts for stock quotes based on the stars, has been consulting such successful investors for several years:

“There are people who invest, for example, in Forex, in the American stock market, in cryptocurrencies, that is, everyone has their own needs. I deal with them not as an astrologer, but as a traditional analyst. First of all, I study the client’s profile, naturally, from the point of view of his astrological natal chart. This is a comprehensive approach for fund managers. Now I use artificial intelligence – GPT-4 – through it I did the algorithmization of astrological clusters.”

And for financial endeavors to be successful, you should not spare money on an astrological forecast, and you also need to listen to the signs, says Arina Golyakova, owner of the “Era of Aquarius” yoga studio:

“Now time and space have changed. Moreover, there are a lot of systems – gene keys, human design, astrology of different types, Western, Vedic. Some knowledge can be used when planning important steps, you can check with the stars. There are days when it is better not to negotiate. It’s stupid to deny that all this affects us.”

True, by openly declaring an interest in secret knowledge and otherworldly symbols, an entrepreneur risks his reputation in the business environment. For example, the owner of Mr.Doors, Maxim Valetsky, had to say goodbye to a business partner who attached special importance to numbers:

“I categorically avoided the number 13 and was afraid of “unlucky people.” This can cause you to miss important decisions. The office is on the 13th floor – he won’t go there, the plane is on the 13th – he won’t fly. I have a negative attitude towards this.”

Some government officials are also turning to unconventional forecasting methods. Thus, former Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis discussed issues of economic development of Latvia with the soothsayer. He said this in one of his interviews. However, according to the politician, the fortune teller’s predictions turned out to be inaccurate.
