The number of vacancies for part-time work during the New Year holidays, as Kommersant FM found out, is twice as high as last year’s figure. About 60 thousand temporary job advertisements are posted on the HeadHunter platform alone. Most of them are in Moscow and the region. The average rate per shift is 5-6 thousand rubles. They usually pay immediately and often offer a contact for permanent part-time work. How much can you earn during the January holidays? And what kind of specialists does the market need? Aelita Kurmukova found out.

During the January holidays, the market needs couriers, drivers, sellers, animators, packers and even doctors. During the holidays, it is quite possible to recoup New Year’s expenses. And they are record-breaking in 2023. The average spending budget of Russians, according to a poll by VTsIOM, amounted to almost 55 thousand rubles. And in the capital, you can earn twice as much in just a 10-day weekend.

Moscow and the region this time posted about 15 thousand advertisements for part-time work during the New Year holidays, said the official representative of the HeadHunter platform, Alexander Dzhabarov: “Most of them involve part-time work from four hours a day, many vacancies for the evening.

As for salary offers, they fall within the range of 50 thousand rubles. up to 95 thousand rubles. We mainly need drivers, delivery people, couriers with a personal car. Their fees are about 15-20 thousand rubles higher than in the low season.”

Employers are willing to pay more for part-time work in January and in the HoReCa segment. Against the backdrop of the development of domestic tourism and a shortage of personnel, hotels, motels and restaurants are actively recruiting temporary staff, says Tatyana Dolyakova, general director of the ProPersonnel recruitment agency:

“We will need waiters, SPA salon managers, administrators, and entertainment workers. Peak season – until January 20. And employers are ready to pay. Income will reach 100-150 thousand rubles. – in fact, a monthly salary that can be earned during two weeks of the January holidays.

Typically, the demand for temporary employees will arise not only in Moscow or St. Petersburg, but in different regions of the country. Domestic tourism is now developing very actively, and there are places to go.”

But specialists in creative professions are not ready to work for January, Kommersant FM’s interlocutors share. The business itself understands this, which is why it doesn’t want to pay more, but there are vacancies, says Kirill Anoshin, director of the National Guild of Freelancers: “Orders for the New Year holidays on freelance sites and freelance exchanges are already appearing. We need specialists in proofreading, writing texts, promotion, advertising, and graphic designers. I think that up to 30 thousand rubles. You can try to get website improvements and IT support.”

Approximately the same money is offered to service sector specialists. A courier can earn up to 7-8 thousand rubles in January. per shift is 80 thousand rubles. 10 days off. Maids in short-term rental companies are offered 55 thousand rubles for the holidays. with part-time employment. They usually pay in shifts and immediately, says Alexander Veterkov, Deputy General Director of the Rabota.ru service:

“Companies are ready to enter into long-term relationships with performers, offering to start one or two shifts first, and then start a permanent part-time job. There are not enough employees in the market. We are seeing more and more candidates who refuse so-called labor slavery and do not want to go to work in the state.

And the same thing will continue in 2024. The number of such offers will grow, and the number of candidates who will be ready to work part-time in addition to their main place, as well as change it.

This is already a given on the market, without which employers are unlikely to be able to meet all their needs.”

Given the shortage of personnel, businesses will have to raise payments for part-time jobs, recruiters interviewed by Kommersant FM do not rule out. And the new year, like 2023, will be a job seeker’s market, not an employer’s market. And more and more companies will be forced to hire employees without experience and special skills. In 2023, according to the company “Rabota. Ru” was 18%.
