The Ministry of Industry and Trade supported the proposal to clarify the rules for the sale of nicotine-containing products in pavilions (small free-standing buildings). This was reported to Vedomosti by a representative of the department. According to him, this, among other things, will eliminate discrepancies in the definition of the concept of “pavilion”, where, according to the “anti-tobacco” law, the sale of tobacco is allowed. At the moment, this issue is being worked out and is subject to further discussion, the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade specified.

The proposal itself was made on August 28 by Opora Rossii (which unites representatives of small and medium-sized businesses) at a meeting attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), and so on. This was reported to Vedomosti by two of its participants. According to them, the organization proposes to amend laws No. 15-FZ “On protecting the health of citizens from the effects of second hand tobacco smoke and the consequences of tobacco consumption” and No. 381-FZ “On the basics of state regulation of trading activities in the Russian Federation.”
