The film “Bullfinch” directed by Boris Khlebnikov received the award for “Best Film” of the 2023 Golden Eagle film award, TASS reports from the award ceremony in the first pavilion of the Mosfilm film concern.
According to the plot of the film, students of the nautical school Nikita (played by Makar Khlebnikov) and Maxim (Oleg Savostyuk) undergo an internship on the fishing vessel “Bullfinch”. Due to the small catch, the ship’s captain Gennady (Alexander Robak) decides to cross the border and cast a net in Norwegian waters, in which case citing the fact that the navigation devices have failed.
In addition to “The Bullfinch,” “1993” directed by Alexander Veledinsky, “Challenge” by Klim Shipenko, “At the Pike’s Command” by Alexander Voitinsky and “The Righteous Man” by Sergei Ursulyak also competed for the award for “Best Film.” Mr. Ursulyak received the award for best director.
The Golden Eagle for Best Actor in a Film was awarded to Alexander Yatsenko, who played Red Army officer Nikolai Kiselyov in the film The Righteous. Anna Mikhalkova received the award for best actress in a film for her role in the film “Anna’s Feelings.”
At the beginning of the XXII Golden Eagle Film Awards ceremony, honorary awards for contributions to cinema got director and general director of Mosfilm Karen Shakhnazarov, cameraman, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Anatoly Mukasey, as well as Yulia Peresild, who became the first actress to act in space (the film “Challenge”).
