Bulgaria is negotiating with Gazprom to resume gas supplies

Bulgaria is negotiating with Gazprom to resume supplies on favorable terms for it. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of the Republic Rosen Hristov in an interview with the TV channel BNT. He assured that the work is being carried out extremely intensively and Sofia hopes to get a positive result soon. The terms of the contract remain confidential.

“We are in touch with Gazprom and are trying to bring the negotiations to a positive conclusion and the resumption of supplies on favorable terms for us. These are extremely complex negotiations – we are talking not only about gas supplies, but also about payment terms within the framework of European restrictions,” Mr. Hristov said. He added that Bulgaria is considering a number of other alternatives, the purpose of which is to buy gas at the best price.

August 26 Rosen Hristov spokethat the government sent a request to Gazprom with a proposal to resume negotiations on gas supplies. He noted that the price of alternative supplies exceeds the offer of the Russian company by 50%. On April 27, Gazprom suspended fuel supplies to Bulgargaz after failure pay for energy resources in rubles.
