British American Tobacco sold its business in Russia – Kommersant

British American Tobacco (BAT) has closed a deal to sell its business in Russia and Belarus, according to the company’s website. About BAT leaving Russia announced September 7, the deal was closed on September 14. The amount was not disclosed.
“Further to our announcement dated September 7, 2023, we would like to inform you that we have completed the sale of our Russian and Belarusian businesses. The sale was carried out in accordance with local and international legislation and after obtaining all necessary permits,” it said press release.
British American Tobacco produces Dunhill, Kent, Vogue, Rothmans, Pall Mall, Lucky Strike and Java cigarettes, as well as the glo tobacco warmer and neo sticks.
BAT announced plans to transfer the business in March 2022. The buyer was a consortium led by BAT Russia management. After its completion, BAT Russia will take over the British American Tobacco enterprises in Russia and Belarus under the name ITMS Group (International Tobacco Marketing Services Group).
