The price of Brent oil rose by 23.1% in the quarter. WTI rose 28.5% over the same period. On average, American and European oil prices rose by 25.8%, reports “Prime”.
As a result of trading on Friday, the price of December futures for Brent decreased by 1%, to $92.2 per barrel. November futures for WTI also fell 1% to $90.79 per barrel. Over the month, the price of Brent increased by 6.1%, WTI – by 8.6%. Over nine months – by 7.3% and 12.8%, respectively.
The International Energy Agency expects a significant shortage of oil on the world market due to production restrictions by OPEC+ countries. Until now, the voluntary reduction in production by the countries of the agreement has been offset by increased supplies from the United States and Brazil. Now the IEA notes that oil supply is not keeping pace with growing demand.
