Prices for lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles have increased by 7% since the beginning of 2022 to $151 per kWh. According to BloombergNEF, this is the first increase in the price of such batteries since 2010. The rise in prices is associated with the increased cost of lithium and nickel.

Since the beginning of 2021, lithium prices have increased 10 times, nickel prices by 75%. According to experts, in 2023 the price of batteries for electric vehicles will rise to $152 per kWh against the backdrop of rising demand. According to forecasts, prices for such batteries will drop to $100 per kWh only by 2026.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, sales of electric vehicles in Russia grew by 34%. Since the beginning of the year, 2.1 thousand of these cars have been sold in Russia.
