Today the bitcoin rate reached absolute historical record, amounting to $69,210. The previous record was set on November 10, 2021 at $68,982.

“Bitcoin has updated its value record and again shown that it is not going anywhere,” CNBC quoted Alex Thorne, head of the research division of the investment company Galaxy Digital, as saying. “Over its 15-year history, Bitcoin has already fallen in price by more than 75% four times, but each time it has won back losses”.

The Bitcoin price has been continuously growing since the end of January – on January 22 it was worth another $39,521. Then the cryptocurrency began to regularly update multi-month records until it eventually reached its absolute maximum. Among the reasons for the growth, experts cite regulatory relaxations adopted in January by the US Securities and Exchange Commission: it approved the country’s first bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Hype intensifies and the expected Bitcoin halving in April – a planned reduction in new issues.

Why cryptocurrency is growing – in the material of Kommersant FM “Bitcoin is heading towards the maximum”.
