Against the backdrop of a massive withdrawal of investors’ funds from the FTX exchange, the price of bitcoin updated a two-year low, reaching $15,708/BTC. The last time cryptocurrency quotes collapsed to a similar level in early November 2020.
As follows from the data of the exchange Binance, Bitcoin has fallen in price by approximately 15% per day, over the past 5 days – by more than 25%. Experts predict a recovery in demand for cryptocurrency at the beginning of next year.
Over the past week, users of the FTX exchange have withdrawn a total of $6 billion of cryptocurrencies from the platform. This happened against the backdrop of news about securing the exchange in unreliable assets: earlier in the media there was information that the reserves of Alameda, an investment company associated with FTX, consisted of more than a third of the FTT token issued by the exchange.
