The Bitcoin rate during trading reached a two-year high, breaking the mark of $65 thousand. The previous maximum of Bitcoin was recorded in November 2021 – $68.9 thousand. This is evidenced by site data Coindesk at 8:30 London time (11:30 Moscow time).
Over the past 24 hours, the Bitcoin rate has increased by 5.26%. At 11:30 Moscow time the rate exceeded $65 thousand, but then dropped to $64.9 thousand by 11:36 Moscow time. By 11:40 am, Bitcoin had reached $65.2 thousand. The latest high was achieved last week – on February 28, the price of Bitcoin rose to $60 thousand.
The cryptocurrency rate is growing amid regulatory relaxations adopted in January by the US Securities and Exchange Commission: it approved the country’s first exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for bitcoin. After this, the largest investors were able to legally buy cryptocurrency. Since the beginning of the year, Bitcoin has gained at least 40%.
