Crypto exchange Binance sent out requests to Russian clients to close positions and withdraw funds by December 29. The authenticity of the letters was confirmed by the official support service of the crypto exchange RBC.
Starting December 29, all open positions will be gradually closed, Binance said. Until this moment, clients from the Russian Federation must pay off outstanding obligations, close positions and withdraw funds to the CommEX exchange or any other crypto platform.
RBC technical support explained that the letters were sent to those whose location was “temporarily or permanently” determined in Russia.
On September 27, 2023, Binance announced its withdrawal from Russia. In the same month, the exchange announced the sale of the Russian business to CommEX. From January 31, the exchange will also stop supporting P2P transactions (transactions between users) with the ruble, but clients will be able to conduct transactions with the ruble on CommEX. To do this, you need to link your Binance account to your CommEX account.
