After a summer spent sitting in the Assembly as much as possible, the elected officials do not lose sight of the sine qua non of their mandate: to establish themselves permanently in the constituencies, to continue there.
“A deputy is parliamentary work, but also that in the constituency. In the end, you still have to get re-elected.” In private, this elected macronist of the new legislature thinks it worth remembering: his role is not limited to his Parisian activity, contrary to what the first session was able to show. The beginning of the summer was indeed reduced to a single task, that of sitting in the hemicycle as much as possible. An untenable pace for many elected officials, who know the importance of establishing themselves in a territory in order to be able to continue there. All the more so since the last ballot, which reshuffled the cards, sometimes eliminating in the first round personalities considered to be pillars of the Palais Bourbon.
