Yandex Music, at the request of Roskomnadzor, has limited access to the page of the Belarusian singer Ap$ent (Arseny Kislyak). According to Vedomosti, the request from RKN was received by the service on March 27. The publication notes that this artist has not yet been recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent and has not been included in the list of extremists and terrorists; the Russian authorities were not previously aware of any claims against the Belarusian. Currently, Ap$ent’s profile on other Russian music streaming sites is “still available,” but a source on one of the platforms told reporters that blocking is also being prepared there, Vedomosti points out.
For what reason the RKN considered the singer to be violating Russian legislation is still unknown.
Ap$ent’s most popular track, “Can I be with you,” is included in the top charts of all Russian music services.
“It could have been a nice day. But the call: you’re facing a prison sentence in a couple of lines / Yes, the vibe here is so-so. Apparently, it’s time, well, well, come on, my native land / And through the bushes on a night path. Yes. The plan sucks. Wait / Can I come with you?” – is sung in the song.
The artist stated that he wrote it in 2022 after he emigrated with his wife to Georgia. The couple made the decision to move from Belarus after a criminal case was opened against the singer’s wife for insulting the president – the reason was her public comment about Alexander Lukashenko. A court in Belarus sentenced Maria to a year of restriction of freedom; the accused left the country before the verdict was pronounced.
