Belarus banned the export of grain for six months

In Belarus, a ban on the export of grain is introduced for six months, according to a resolution of the Council of Ministers. The measure comes into force today, September 24.

The list of goods prohibited for export includes 19 items. Among them: wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, buckwheat, follows from documentpublished on the national portal of legal acts.

In 2021, the Belarusian authorities have already introduced a ban on the export of certain types of grain. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in May spokethat his country will not export grain crops in 2022 and will direct all stocks to domestic needs.

In March, the Russian government imposed a temporary ban on grain exports to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia). The restrictions were in effect until July. Russian Grain Union predicted grain export up to 44 million tons.
