Belarus and China agree on joint production of electric vehicles

Belarus has agreed with Chinese companies to organize the production of electric vehicles on its territory, reported Economy Minister Alexander Chervyakov following his visit to China.
“Agreements have been reached on the development of electric transport in the Republic of Belarus, a number of companies have agreed to organize the production of electric vehicles in Belarus,” said Chervyakov, his words are reported by the press service of the government of Belarus.
He noted that the issues of organizing the supply of equipment to the republic for the modernization of enterprises were resolved. In addition, the countries agreed on the supply of railway locomotives, accreditation of dairy enterprises that were already engaged in the supply of products to China, etc.
In late February – early March, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited Beijing, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Then the Belarusian president noted that Minsk was interested in deepening cooperation with China on technological development, including the creation of joint ventures, the modernization of Belarusian enterprises with the introduction of modern Chinese technologies, as well as the promotion of goods and services to the markets of third countries.
As a result of the visit, Minsk and Beijing also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the defense sphere and fight against terrorism. In addition, countries will strengthen exchange and cooperation in the field of disaster prevention and mitigation.
