Violist and conductor Yuri Bashmet decided to postpone foreign concerts until quieter times. He stated that “the touring plans have not been cancelled, but are being rescheduled”.
During a press meeting at the Bashmet Center, the conductor noted that he was not upset by the restrictions, since he “had run into so much and played enough everywhere.” The world-famous musician plans to resume touring when “more or less calm times” come. “Then we will decide what kind of tour,” added the People’s Artist of the USSR. “This is Japan, and Europe, and America, and so on.”
