Baring Vostok plans to reorganize its business

The investment company Baring Vostok (BV) is going to divide the main assets between two new management companies Baring Private Equity and Vostok Investmentsinformed RBC. Group founder Michael Calvey told the publication that the decision to restructure the business “appears to be a logical step under the current conditions and reflects the interests of all parties.”
According to RBC, Vostok Investments will be managed by companies whose main business is concentrated in Russia, in particular Ozon, Solofarm, SkyEng, VkusVill, Familia. Elena Ivashentseva, who currently holds the position of senior partner of BV, will become the chairman of the board of directors of Vostok Investments.
Baring Private Equity Funds will own investments in such international companies as Kaspi.kz, Blablacar, Kolesa.Kz. The funds will also be managed by Mr. Calvey. A change in the structure of the investment group will not require and will not entail any changes in its portfolio companies, RBC notes.
