Atomflot (FSUE under the control of Rosatom, owns the fleet of Russian nuclear icebreakers) has agreed to conclude a contract for the construction of a multifunctional nuclear service vessel (MSATO). According to two sources close to different parties to the deal, it will be signed between Atomflot and the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). One of them specifies that the signing will take place “in the coming days.” The construction of the vessel will be carried out by the Baltic Shipyard, which is part of the USC.
Rosatom, Atomflot and USC declined to comment. Vedomosti also sent a request to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
