AvtoVAZ predicts the Russian market of passenger cars in 2023 at the level of 800 thousand cars

AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov said that in 2023 the Russian market for passenger cars and LCVs will be about 800,000 vehicles, according to the baseline scenario. According to him, AvtoVAZ plans to export 20,000 vehicles in 2023.

“If the market is, relatively speaking, not even in the pessimistic, but in the basic versions of 800 thousand, and we plan to produce 400 thousand, then it is easy to divide these figures and compare them, having determined the approximate parameters of this share of 50%,” Maxim said. Sokolov to journalists at the forum “Russian Industrialist” (quote from “RIA News”). He noted that 800,000 cars are estimated by AvtoVAZ.

Mr. Sokolov added that AvtoVAZ is going to resume export deliveries. According to him, in 2023 the company will be able to export about 20 thousand cars. As he explained, AvtoVAZ is ready to supply car kits to Kazakhstan, and also plans to enter the markets of Belarus, the CIS countries and Africa.

Previously at AvtoVAZ reportedthat, according to their forecasts, in 2022 the market for commercial vehicles in Russia may be reduced to 670-700 thousand vehicles against 1.7 million in 2021. The company also noted that the difficult situation remains in the automotive market due to sanctions and the refusal of global suppliers to work with Russian manufacturers.
