AvtoVAZ has postponed the launch of mass production of the Lada Iskra at the Tolyatti plant to a later date. It is planned to start not at the end of 2024, but at the beginning of 2025, said company president Maxim Sokolov.
“The start of its production is planned for the very beginning of 2025 and it will be the most widespread, most affordable Russian passenger car on a high-tech platform,” Mr. Sokolov said at the Rossiya exhibition (quoted from RIA Novosti).
Lada Iskra is a new family of budget cars based on the global CMF-B platform. It is planned in three variations: sedan, station wagon and station wagon-cross.
