Avtodor to build and reconstruct over 1,400 km of roads by 2030

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin extended program of activities of the state company Russian Highways (Avtodor, responsible for toll roads) until 2030. According to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, during this period, Avtodor will build and reconstruct more than 1,400 km of roads.

“As a result, from 2023 to 2030, the state-owned company will build and reconstruct more than 1,400 km of modern roads, that is, on average, it is planned to commission 175 km per year,” the press service of the Cabinet quoted him as saying.

According to Khusnullin, the state-owned company annually shows good results by creating large road facilities throughout Russia.

Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Avtodor, in turn, said that there are more than ten projects in the portfolio of the state-owned company. Among them is the backup of the Dzhubga-Sochi road, the South-Western Chord, the implementation of which will unload the roads of the cities of the Black Sea coast. In addition, Avtodor is working on the Pulkovo interchange on M-11 Neva, the development of toll sections on M-1 Belarus and M-3 Ukraine, the construction of new interchanges with the Central Ring Road in the Moscow region, etc.

In total, as the press service of the government added, over the 12 years of the Avtodor activity program, about 2,000 km of roads have been built and reconstructed, or an average of almost 154 km per year.

In August, Avtodor approved fares for the new sections of the M-12 highway. For car owners, a trip from Moscow to Vladimir will cost 1,399 rubles. (156.5 km), from Vladimir to Arzamas – 1422 rubles. (259 km), total 2821 rubles. The section from Moscow to Arzamas with a length of 415.5 km is planned to be fully launched before the end of 2023, by September – 308 km of the road.

In early June, Igor Koval, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Avtodor, told Vedomosti about the project of the South-Western Chord expressway. The road should connect the Samara-Togliatti agglomeration through Saratov and Volgograd with the Krasnodar Territory. The length of the road that will go along the right bank of the Volga is about 1500 km.

A branch from Volgograd towards Astrakhan and to the ports of the Caspian Sea is also possible, which is an additional 500 km. In total, out of these 2,000 km, new construction will account for 1,158 km of roads. They will cost about 1.2 trillion rubles.
