Content creators on VKontakte earned 37% more in 2023 than a year earlier. Their total income amounted to 5.5 billion rubles, according to press release social network.
According to its data, the number of users sending rewards to authors has increased by 56%. The tool launched by VKontakte for financial support of VK Donut authors began to be used by twice as many communities, but the social network does not disclose their number. It is clarified that over the year, with the help of VK Donut, the creators earned 780 million rubles. The most attractive for donations were blogs on the topics of manga, anime, k-pop, parenting, creativity, applications and games.
Views of video content in the VKontakte feed increased by 25% compared to 2022. In addition, users began to publish stories 27% more often. Over the course of a year, users have on average 11 more friends.
According to VK’s reporting for the first half of the year, the company’s revenue increased by 36%, to 57 billion rubles. In August, VK shareholders and the board of directors approved a decision to change the jurisdiction of VKontakte from the British Virgin Islands to Oktyabrsky Island in the Kaliningrad region, where a flexible tax and currency regulation regime operates.
