In Kazakhstan, at 18:25 local time, the work of the Atyrau oil refinery was stopped due to a “deep power drawdown”, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Energy reported. In addition to the Atyrau Refinery, the Kazakh part of the Caspian pipeline was left without electricity.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported that on July 3, power unit No. 1 with a load of 130 MW was shut down at the thermal power plant of the Mangistau Nuclear Power Plant.
Due to the abrupt retirement of generation at the Western Energy Center, the frequency of the electrical network decreased to 48.6 Hz. Because of this, the Mangystau and Atyrau energy centers switched to isolated work. Restrictions were introduced on the supply of electricity to industrial enterprises and part of the settlements.
“Repair work after the cooling of power unit No. 1 will begin after 00:00 (21:00 Moscow time) on July 5 – cooling for more than a day. An urgent application has been submitted for the repair of block No. 1, ”the press service of MAEK LLP says (quote from TASS).
The news is being added.
