Vladimir Putin also said that Russia confirms that it is protected from external shocks in the energy sector and maintains key positions in this industry. “Despite the openly hostile actions of a number of countries, illegal and endless restrictions, sanctions, the Russian fuel and energy complex – our oil and gas companies – on the whole feel confident, develop, and successfully solve the tasks they face, including in the field of foreign trade,” – he said.

Mr. Putin noted that the main task of the oil and gas industry is to meet Russia’s own needs. “The interests of their economy, all Russian consumers – both entrepreneurs, businesses and citizens, including the continuation of the most important gasification program, maintaining a balance between the profitability of production, processing, retail trade and the availability of relevant products and services for industry and the population, preventing serious price hikes” ,- he said.

Vladimir Putin also said that Russia is considering the possibility of accelerating the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipelines and the Far East route for gas supplies to China. According to him, the Russian side sees prospects for building up cooperation in this area with friendly countries.
