Holidays in the ski resorts of Russia in the upcoming winter season will rise in price by an average of 10-20% compared to last year, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported. Despite the opening of European borders and the lifting of coronavirus restrictions, the demand for domestic ski resorts will remain high, experts predict.
“According to the forecasts of tour operators, depending on the direction, vacations in Russian ski resorts will rise in price in the upcoming winter season by an average of 10% to 20% compared to last winter,” the site associations.
According to ATOR, holidays in Russian resorts have already increased in price in the summer season. This trend will continue into the winter. Experts note that many Russian hotels have dynamic pricing, so hotels will adjust prices as demand grows. “And it will start in the autumn, so it is most profitable to buy a winter vacation in the summer. According to experts, tariffs will traditionally increase closer to the New Year holidays and will win back a little after they end,” ATOR explained.
The association predicts that at the peak of the season, hotel occupancy will be 100%. At the same time, the share of Russians who will spend the winter ski season in Europe will not exceed 3-6%. According to the association, the main barriers that prevent holidays in the ski resorts of Europe are the difficult logistics of flights to the continent, difficulties in obtaining Schengen visas, as well as the limited methods of paying for hotels and services in European resorts.
