At the gathering of the troupe in the Provincial Theater, Firs was looking for a master

And in the CDR they announced “Buffoon Pamphalon”

One by one, two theaters opened their seasons, which celebrated their small anniversaries: the Center for Drama and Directing of Vladimir Pankov – 25 years old and the Provincial Theater of Sergei Bezrukov – the first decade. Both artistic directors announced plans.

In the Provincial Assembly, the gathering took place in an unusual way – in the scenery of the play “The Cherry Orchard”. Uprooted cherry trees hung above the empty stage, and Firs himself (actor Grigory Firsov) came out to the artists. The old man complained that everyone had gone on vacation, and he was forgotten. And that the artistic director, gentleman Sergei Vitalievich, rides a bicycle in the country without supervision. After such a theatrical overture, the “master” began by summing up – four premieres were released and five festivals were held in Moscow and the regions: the Big Children’s and its echo, the Stanislavsky Factory Summer Festival of provincial theaters. The Bezrukov Theater on tour, held in eleven cities, played 26 performances.

And Gubernsky will open his tenth season with the premiere performance “Uncle Vanya” on September 15, and a month later he will show “Jazz Comedy” directed by Alla Reshetnikova on his big stage. The small stage is waiting for “Marriage. Almost according to Gogol, directed by Yevgeny Gomonoy. The playwright Andrei Larionov wrote this play for the older generation of actors by order of the theater. Following the “Marriage” will play “Forty-First” by Lavrenev, staged by a young, but already well-known director Ivan Pachin.

I must say that the season in Gubernsky will be held under the sign of the classics: Alexander Koruchekov is preparing a production of Lope de Vega’s play “A Dog in the Manger”, and Roman Feodori from Krasnoyarsk will release a large musical performance for family viewing “The Little Match Girl” based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian by the end of the season Andersen.

In the tenth anniversary, in addition to the premieres, Gubernsky will master new formats for himself, namely: a literary lounge, theater tours for children and adults, as well as creative meetings of actors in the foyer.

The pride of Sergei Bezrukov – the Big Children’s Festival – will open at the end of September and will last for almost two months. The honor of opening was entrusted to the Theater for Young Spectators from Yekaterinburg, which will present the play “Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens”.

Meanwhile, the program of the 25th season was announced by the Vladimir Pankov Center for Drama and Directing. The leader of the CDR turned to rare authors of the past. So, already in early September, his team will present the premiere of “Buffoon Pamfalon” based on the story of one of the largest Russian writers Nikolai Leskov. This story is rarely chosen by directors as material for theatrical productions, although the key idea in it – “righteousness” – is the main one in Leskov’s work.

“During the reign of Emperor Theodosius the Great, there lived in Constantinople a noble man, a “patrician and eparch” named Hermias. He was rich, noble and distinguished; had a direct and honest character; he loved the truth and hated pretense, and this did not at all match the time in which he lived, ”Leskov began his story, who wrote it in the century before last, but for the age of cyber wars and fakes, it sounds more than relevant.

In a large-scale production, which will be released in the space on Povarskaya, artists and musicians of the Central House of Artists, as well as SounDrama studios, will unite their forces. In the title role, Igor Yasulovich, a wonderful old-school artist who has been collaborating with the Central House of Artists for a long time.

“You can often hear discussions about what the theater serves,” Vladimir Pankov says at a gathering of his troupe. – And I think: we must serve the theater! This 25th season is a watershed moment for the CBD. The first stage in which we moved from modern drama to the literature of bygone eras has come to an end. And now our team is ready to work with great drama, for example, the first play by Shakespeare should appear in the repertoire this season.

This is the comedy “Twelfth Night”, on which Alexei Razmakhov is working. In the Central House of Artists, the young director already has a performance that is popular with young viewers – “The Diary of Alena Chizhuk. And also mail, LiveJournal and Facebook. Elena Pavlova will present her production with the optimistic title “Russian Death” based on the play by Irina Vaskovskaya.

In the 25th season, Pankov’s team also intends to further develop all their projects: “CDR. Start”, “CDR. Dialogue”, “Povarskaya, 20”, the content of which is work with novice directors, composers, artists, open lectures and discussions with the creators of performances and art theorists.
