As of January 14, Azerbaijan supplied 2.1 million chicken eggs to Russia. This is reported by press service Rosselkhoznadzor.
“On January 13 and 14, the next batches of food eggs from Azerbaijan in the amount of 55.72 tons (918 thousand pieces) were imported through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint for further sale in Russia,” the department said in a statement. It is noted that as of January 14, 2.1 million eggs arrived from Azerbaijan.
Last December, eggs became one of the most expensive products in Russia – their price rose by 10–20% in 46 regions of the country. Russian President Vladimir Putin attributed the rise in prices to increased demand.
Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Belarus have announced their readiness to supply eggs to Russia. The first batch from Azerbaijan arrived on December 19, 2023. From Turkey – January 3. Belarus from January 1 to January 9, 2024 put 11.7 million pieces of chicken eggs.
